Well, this is embarrassing... - Oh, Hubris! Oh, Fate! Oh, Two-Hour-Roundtrip-Commutes-to-Museum-Seminars in New Haven! OH! NEW HAVEN! Please. Save me from New Haven. And old lady presidents of Historical Societies that want nothing to do with me and my young shenanigans. Jeez!

My apologies for lack of new page, but I honestly had no time to work on anything this week. Page 37 is sketched, and has speech bubbles, but...it is not fit for human eyes. I finally accepted there's no way I'll get it done tonight. Next week will be crazy, too (we have a gallery show opening up on Friday and NOTHING IS DONE .v.), but expect a spiffy new page none-the-less! Even if it kills me.

In the meantime, I shall distract you with preview art of cast pictures! Each character gets a triptych, that's not really a triptych (kind of in the same way The Hitchhiker's Guide is a trilogy?), since I am overly ambitious and plan to address different points in their lives. Why not? As (I hope) you can tell, this is a younger version of Bastian, back when he was soaking up all the sun that led to his wrinkles all around the coast of the Mediterranean.

Once upon a time, when I was younger and more naive, I thought all of Wunderkammer would be colored like this--all hand blended and DRAMATICALLY LIT! Then I did the sky from the first couple pages like that from scratch every time, and I got over that notion. But I thought it would be fun to bring that style back on the cast pages. BECAUSE IT MATCHES SO WELL. (?)

Who's terrible at anatomy?! 8D

i do like the handblended look! but sometimes you have to make sacrifices to get stuff out on time, and they way you color is still awesome, so i'm not complaining.
